Green Technology

The following are companies and green technology that has successful market entry into the Japanese market place:

Clean-iX Technology
The Clean-iX® technology platform targets the hydrometallurgical extraction and purification of metals from pulps and solutions. The technology utilises the principles of countercurrent ion exchange (CCIX), providing the most efficient and cost effective extraction methods available in the market today. Clean-iX® offers the following:

  • High recovery rates
  • Low reagent usage in uranium, gold, base metals, tailings and water treatment applications
  • Economic extraction of precious metals in tailings
  • Flexibility to deal with a wide range of different feed streams in both acidic and alkaline environments
  • Application in both greenfield and brownfield operations
  • Minimal manning requirements
  • Stringent Australian safety standards.

The Clean-iX® technology range provides the solution for a wide range of metals, leach types and process conditions.

Continuous Resin-In-Pulp (cRIP)
Clean-iX® Continuous Resin-In-Pulp (cRIP) is a continuous countercurrent process that directly extracts metals from leached pulps (up to 50% w/w solids). The resin is mixed directly with the slurry in a series of contactors and moved countercurrent to the flow of slurry.

In some applications, Continuous Resin-In-Leach (cRIL) gives higher leach recovery rates with a reduction in leaching lixiviants. Here, resin is contacted with slurry during the leaching process for metal extraction.

Continuous Ionic Filtration™
The Continuous Ionic Filtration™ (CIF) process is built on the foundations of ion exchange; a process which has been used in the water industry for over 50 years.
The CIF™ process can be likened to the continuous sand filtration process where particles are physically removed by the sand filter bed. In the CIF™ process, charged resins are used instead of sand and the process continuously removes dissolved ions.
Continuous movement of resin and solution in countercurrent operation means the CIF™ process able to operate on dirty water feed streams and has a higher removal efficiency than conventional systems.
The CIF™ system can go where no other ion exchange system has gone before.

The CIF™ Process
The CIF™ systems consist of a series of stages, each designed for a specific function: ionic filtration, resin washing and resin regeneration. Each stage contains a moving packed bed of resin, where resin and solution has intimate contact, ensuring high performance of the resin. Resins are transported between columns using an air lift pump.
Resins used in CIF™ systems are specifically designed to ensure low resin losses and long life.
The following is a schematic of a typical CIF™ operation:

The Premier Group is an Asian focused resources company with a portfolio of mineral exploration and development projects in Bangladesh and Australia. The Premier Group believes that its Bangladesh resource is one of the world’s largest lease areas for minerals sands, approximately 24,000 hectares in area, and containing high-grade heavy minerals such as zircon and rutile, potentially, of concentration superior to other mineral sands areas.

The group’s Australian resource is a hard rock industrial mineral deposit, consisting of pure rutile contained in feldspar, with an inferred JORC resource of 3.5MT at a 2% cut-off grade, yielding some 96,000 tonnes rutile.

Premier has other exploration prospects in Queensland and NSW, including gold and base metals of copper, silver, lead, zinc and antimony, molybdenum and tungsten. The Premier Group has world class resources which it is committed to build into a prosperous sustainable, mining concern.

Hydrodec is committed to value creation through innovation, continuous improvement, and a focus on quality of outcome.

Hydrodec proudly owns, operates and offers patented technology and “know how” that permits the refining and re-manufacture of mineral oils and petrochemical materials to produce sustainable oil and petrochemical products.

Hydrodec’s current and ongoing technology programs are focused on creating value for our customers, shareholders and communities by creating high quality sustainable and cost competitive products and services for industry worldwide.

Hydrodec’s technology has created

  • refining systems for used oils that achieve greater than 99% recovery of feedstock as new oil product.
  • process systems to recover petrochemical by-product as high quality raw materials.
  • chemical processes for the treatment of “Persistent Organic Pollutant” chemicals that avoid incineration, have negligible emissions and in many circumstances allow recovery of the pollutant as a non-hazardous raw material for use in chemical manufacturing.

Hydrodec technologies are low energy, low carbon, low emission and driven by the principles of sustainability.
